OUR DOGS AT SHORE, BY OCEAN

CAVORTING,

RUNNING,

ECSTASY !

THEY COME AND 

THROW THEMSELVES

AT ME,

AND WILD IMPLORE

THE BALL ONCE MORE

TO TOSS IT OUT TO SEA

GO FETCH !

RETRIEVE !

THEIR REVELRY

CAN SCARCE

CONTAIN

WITHIN THEIR FRAMES,

AND JOYOUS BARKS

BRING OUT THE GRINS

OF US AND OTHERS

WATCHING THEM,

LIKE THEIR PALS

THE DOLPHIN POD

AT OUR OWN BEACH,

THEY GAZE AND NOD

AND KNOW THEM WELL,

OUR BOY DOGS,

AND JOIN THEM THERE

AND WE, AS ONE,

AMONG THE SKIES

THE THRILLING WAVES,

THE RUSHING SWELLS,

THE SHUFFLED AIR,

OUR SUNNY’S EYES

MAKE US HIS SLAVES,

AND HAPPINESS

HAS NEVER COME

IN SUCH HUGE,

OVERWHELMING SUM !
